Make The Move To California

Sunday, April 15th, 2012

California is known for many things. It has one of the best climates in the United States. It has some of the most popular beaches in the world. It has beautiful mountains, and beautiful valleys. It was the start of the gold rush, and it is an all around great place to live. California has something for everyone regardless of lifestyle and budget.

California is affordable!
For many people, California is just a dream. They think that they will never be able to purchase a home in California, so they never pursue it. This could not be further from the truth. There are plenty of other affordable housing options in California. You don’t have to be a millionaire to live there.

Check out an apartment. Apartments offer a lot of living for very little money, and in most cases, you can move into a nice apartment with very little up front costs. Everything is taken care of for you. If something breaks, all you have to do is pick up the phone and call the office. They will send out a maintenance man to make the repairs for you.

Another great thing about living in an apartment in California is the fact that you have zero yard maintenance. California is the perfect climate for plants and grass to grow like crazy, but who wants the constant chore of landscaping? Not many people do. With an apartment, there is never any need to worry about yard maintenance. It is all taken care of for you. You can enjoy the landscaping of the apartment complex without any of the work. That is the way to live!

Rent a home in California.
If apartments are not your thing, then don’t worry, you can always rent a house. In most cases the cost to rent a house in California is much cheaper than owning, You will not be required to come up with a huge down payment, and just like apartments, everything is taken care of for you. You could rent a house in one of the beautiful valleys, or rent a house that is closer to the beach. Living in California is more affordable than you may think. Now that you know you have some options, what is stopping you from making the move? There is nothing in your way. Take the trip out West, and see why most people never leave the great state of California.

Increase in Rental Scams Earns Craigslist Advertisers a Bad Name

Tuesday, May 10th, 2011

Landlords, realtors and property managers that advertise houses for rent in Denver Colorado or houses for rent in Las Vegas Nevada or other metropolitan areas may have a hard time finding tenants when advertising on free classified advertising websites like Craigslist. That’s because too many renters have fallen victim to rental scams or know a friend who has after following up on leads advertised on these types of sites.

One of the most common internet rental scams works like this. Someone, presumably a property owner or manager, posts an ad for houses for rent in Denver Colorado or houses for rent in Las Vegas Nevada offering unusually low rental rates. Renters on tight budgets are drawn to these properties, thinking they’ve found the deal of a lifetime. What they end up with instead are unscrupulous individuals who steal sensitive personal information like addresses, social security numbers and bank account information and use the information to commit identity theft, or even ask for money in exchange for a key they don’t really have.

Another popular scam is a supposed landlord that initiates the rental application process with multiple tenants simultaneously and obtains deposits from all of them.  With deposits in hand, the landlord repeatedly postpones the move-in date. By the time tenants realize there’s a problem, the supposed landlord has already deposited tenants’ money and is nowhere to be found.

Unfortunately, deceit runs rampant where there’s ample opportunity. And scammers find plenty of opportunity on sites like Craigslist. Because these sites offer no way of knowing who’s legitimate and who’s a scammer, renters have become leery of all advertisers. Many have even stopped looking for rental property on sites like Craigslist.

If you’re a landlord, realtor or property manager, you can’t risk being unfairly perceived as the bad guy. That’s why you, too should  be extremely careful of how you advertise on free classified advertising sites like Craigslist. Instead, consider advertising your houses for rent in Denver Colorado, your houses for rent in Las Vegas Nevada, and wherever you have houses for rent on websites that specialize in promoting income producing properties. Rates are much lower than you think, and better yet, your ads are targeted directly at renters.
